Job description

Vuly is an Australian outdoor play company. For over 15 years we’ve designed and built trampolines, swing sets and play equipment for families in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Europe and Asia. As we scale from $100M to $1B, we’ve opened a new office in Hong Kong. We’re looking for a Vice President to lead it and to act as a senior strategic adviser to our CEO & Founder.

To get there, we need the structure to match. A central part of this role is building and enforcing corporate governance across our global offices: the systems, policies, controls and reporting that supports this business growth.

This is a hands‑on senior role in a small, growing office. You’ll set direction and advise at the highest level, but you’ll also do the work yourself: drafting the policies, building the registers, mapping the workflows and running the analysis. There’s no large team beneath you. If something needs doing, you’ll do it. The role reports directly to the CEO & Founder and is based onsite in Hong Kong.

What you’ll do
  • Build and run corporate governance across the group. Write, implement and enforce the governance framework yourself across our offices in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, China and the US. This covers standard operating procedures, statutory registers, internal policies, organisational structure, compliance, and board and management reporting.
  • Map and enforce how we work. Sit with teams, document their workflows end to end, and turn them into clear, standardised SOPs. Review internal policies regularly, and make sure systems and structure are followed consistently in every office.
  • Own risk and compliance. Personally manage entity filings, registers and deadlines across jurisdictions, run the insurance reviews, and make sure the group meets its regulatory and reporting obligations as it grows.
  • Oversee operations, tax and treasury. Work with specialist leads to make sure the operations, tax and treasury functions are joined up and well governed across the group.
  • Lead the Hong Kong office. Be the most senior figure in our Hong Kong office, setting standards, culture and operating rhythm, and representing the business in the region.
  • Set up the office. Get the entity, banking, premises and service providers in place yourself, and keep them running smoothly.
  • Manage the advisers. Brief, coordinate and constructively challenge external tax, legal and accounting advisers so their advice is joined up and acted on.
  • Build relationships. Develop senior relationships with banks, advisers, partners and government bodies across Hong Kong and Greater China.
What you’ll bring
  • Proven corporate governance experience helping a business scale significantly, including building SOPs, registers, policies, compliance frameworks, reporting and organisational structure
  • A track record of personally building governance documents, SOPs and registers, not just overseeing others who do
  • Experience mapping, documenting and enforcing workflows and internal controls across multiple offices or jurisdictions
  • Working knowledge of tax, treasury and banking across multiple jurisdictions
  • A degree in business, commerce, law or a related field
  • 10+ years’ senior experience in corporate governance, operations or general management in a scaling business
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate operating businesses
  • Working knowledge of Hong Kong’s business, regulatory and banking environment
  • Comfortable working without a large support team, and moving between strategic and detailed work on the same day
  • Fluent English, written and spoken
Nice to have
  • Experience leading insurance reviews and enterprise risk management
  • Understanding of cross-border Australia/Hong Kong considerations
  • Experience with consumer products, manufacturing or eCommerce businesses
Why Vuly
  • Real influence. Report directly to the CEO & Founder and shape decisions that matter.
  • Build the structure for scale. Put in place the governance a global business needs on its path to $1B.
  • Hands-on impact. See your work in action quickly, with no layers between you and the result.
  • Breadth. A diverse role spanning governance, office leadership, operations and commercial advice.
  • Greenfield. A newly established office with the chance to build it your way.
  • A team across borders. Work with colleagues in Brisbane, Kuala Lumpur, China and the US.

Applicants must have the right to work in Hong Kong. This role is based onsite in our Hong Kong office. Vuly is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
