Job summary

Qube Research & Technologies in Hong Kong is seeking experienced Trading Systems Software Engineers to help build the applications, platforms and engineering capabilities supporting our global trading environment.

This broad role covers application development, distributed systems, cloud technology, deployment automation and production engineering; you will deliver software used by traders, quantitative researchers, operations teams and engineers across the firm.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience developing production-grade software.
• Strong programming ability in Python, Java, Go, Node.js or C++.
• Experience building scalable applications, APIs, distributed systems or event-driven architectures.
• Solid software-design fundamentals and architectural judgement.
• Experience with Linux, relational databases and messaging technologies.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines and public cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
• Strong reliability, observability, performance and failure-recovery mindset.
• Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Pragmatic, collaborative approach and ownership of systems.

Responsibilities

• Build production-grade applications, services and APIs supporting QRT’s trading platform.
• Design scalable distributed and event-driven systems.
• Develop shared platforms and tools adopted across teams.
• Create deployment automation, release tooling and self-service engineering capabilities.
• Build cloud-native services and automated workflows using AWS and Airflow.
• Partner with traders, researchers and operations to solve business problems.
• Own software throughout its lifecycle from design to production support and improvement.
