Job summary

Morgan McKinley in Hong Kong is seeking a Compensation Accounting professional to support payroll, accounting and reporting for employees. The role collaborates with regional CA teams across Asia Pacific and external payroll vendors, with exposure to global projects.

The candidate will have a business/finance degree, 2–3 years' experience (Big 4 preferred), proficiency in MS Excel, and knowledge of local tax rules. Mandarin is a plus and strong control mindset is essential.

Job description

Compensation Accounting (CA) is responsible for the payment, accounting and reporting of all salary, bonus, and other forms of remuneration paid to employees of the firm. The Asia Pacific Compensation Accounting team is a regional team with professionals based in Hong Kong, Bengaluru, and Melbourne, working together to support payroll, accounting, tax reporting, and control activities across multiple jurisdictions in Asia Pacific. This role will be based in Hong Kong and offers extensive exposure to regional stakeholders, global teams, and cross-functional projects.

You will work closely with external payroll vendors in a number of locations, as well as, internally, with regional CA teams in Hong Kong, India, Europe and the US. As part of the daily function, you will also have to work with colleagues in other areas of the firm such as Human Capital Management, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Financial Reporting. In addition, the team works on many local and global projects which have impact on our work process and you will have the chance to experience these.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in business, accounting or finance.
• Minimum two to three years of relevant work experience including human capital at Big 4 accounting firms.
• Experience in handling general ledger posting and accounts reconciliation.
• Knowledge of individual income tax and benefit programs would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluency in Mandarin preferred.
• Details oriented and strong control sense.
• Effective communication and time management skills.
