Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the engineering team in the execution, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of BMS and building automation projects. This includes troubleshooting control systems, coordinating with sub‑contractors, and ensuring optimal system performance (especially regarding HVAC and central chiller plant automation).
- System Execution & Support: Assist in the engineering design, programming, graphic development, and configuration of BMS controllers and front‑end software (e.g., Tridium Niagara Framework/JACE platform, DDC controllers).
- Site Testing & Commissioning (T&C): Conduct on‑site testing, commissioning, and fine‑tuning of control loops, sensors, and actuators to ensure systems operate according to technical specifications.
- Maintenance & Fault Diagnosis: Perform routine preventive maintenance, handle emergency breakdown calls, troubleshoot system networks (BACnet, Modbus), and rectify hardware/software faults.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate with clients, main contractors, sub‑contractors, and internal teams to ensure site works progress according to the schedule and meet safety standards.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, T&C records, operation manuals, and simple cost estimations or quotations for small‑scale modification works.
Qualifications
- Education: Higher Diploma in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering, or a related automation discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in BMS, ELV, or HVAC control systems.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Hands‑on experience with control components (e.g., smart valves, air quality sensors, VAV controllers).
- Familiarity with building automation integration protocols, specifically BACnet, Modbus, and IP networking.
- Knowledge of standard industry platforms (such as Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, Siemens, or Trend systems) is a distinct advantage.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and central chiller plant operations.
Soft Skills
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work independently under pressure on‑site.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interface smoothly with clients and sub‑contractors.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
