Job summary

Henderson Land Development Company Limited requires an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, and to design and manage network infrastructure in a Hong Kong-based setting.

The role involves deploying VMware vSphere and Sangfor, managing storage (SAN/NAS), scripting tasks, automation, and AI-powered monitoring to ensure uptime and security across the data center and network. Strong English and Chinese communication is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain physical & virtual servers

Job description

Install, configure and maintain physical & virtual servers, including rack-mount servers and blade systems

Design, implement and manage network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VLANs, Firewalls & Fiber Channel switches

Deploy and administer virtual environment such as VMware vSphere and Sangfor, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual machines, storage & resource management

Configure and maintain SAN / NAS storage systems & ensure data availability and integrity

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware / software / network issues and perform root cause analysis

Plan and execute server & network upgrades, patches & firmware updates with minimal downtime

Implement and maintain backup & disaster recovery solutions

Manage network security policies, access controls and firewall rules

Document system configurations, network diagrams and standard operating procedures

Write and maintain automation scripts (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python) to streamline routine infrastructure tasks

Explore and adopt AI-powered tools to enhance infrastructure monitoring, incident response and operational efficiency

Collaborate with application teams to support system integration, deployment and performance tuning

Provide first-level technical support for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests

Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese

Requirements:

Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related disciplines

Minimum 2 years' working experience in server, network and infrastructure administration

Hands-on experience in VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) for virtualisation management

Solid knowledge of network infrastructure including TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching and Fiber Channel switches

Experience in server hardware setup, rack installation, cabling and data centre operations

Familiar with storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and backup solutions

Able and willing to learn scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python) for task automation

Positive attitude towards adopting AI tools to improve daily operations and workflow efficiency

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting

Good documentation skills with the ability to produce clear technical guides and procedures

Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as in a team

Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
