Job summary

CL Technical Services Ltd. is seeking a System Infrastructure Specialist to oversee VMware 7 based cloud infrastructure, MySQL databases, and SAN storage across large-scale virtual environments in Hong Kong.

You will advise on administration, perform upgrades, optimize performance, ensure backup/high-availability, and supervise data centre migrations, working with project managers and external vendors to maintain service continuity.

Qualifications

• Higher Diploma or Degree in IT or equivalent.
• 6+ years in IT industry.
• Experience supporting large-scale IT infrastructure (500+ virtual servers).
• 3+ years experience in MySQL.
• VMware 7 or above virtualizationExperience.
• Experience in conducting quality assurance on project deliverables.
• At least 1 year experience in Storage Area Network (SAN).
• 3+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance.

Responsibilities

Provide expert technical advisory on the administration, operation, and configuration of cloud infrastructure services—including databases, servers, storage, and backup solutions to ensure seamless delivery of shared cloud services.

Oversee and facilitate system software upgrades within virtualized environments for cloud shared services.

Perform in-depth problem diagnosis and performance tuning on PaaS application servers and databases (e.g., MySQL) to support effective capacity planning and server configuration management.

Deliver intensive database administration support, covering backup, recovery, and high-availability configurations across complex database environments.

Lead and provide hands‑on support for the relocation of cloud infrastructure services to a new data centre, ensuring minimal disruption.

Partner with the project manager to monitor team performance and conduct quality assurance reviews on project deliverables from external vendors and contractors.

Requirements

Higher Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or its equivalent

At least 6 years’ experience in IT industry

Experience in supporting large-scale IT infrastructure (over 500 virtual servers)

At least 3 years’ experience in supporting MySQL

Experience in using virtualization software including VMware 7 or above

Experience in conducting quality assurance on project deliverables

At least 1 years’ experience in Storage Area Network

At least 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance
