Job summary

CL Technical Services Ltd. is seeking an Infrastructure Systems Specialist to advise on the administration and configuration of GCIS equipment, including virtualized servers, enterprise storage, and backup systems.

You will diagnose complex issues, manage capacity, and optimize performance for PaaS/EGIS application servers and databases such as IBM DB2, Oracle, and MySQL. The role requires hands-on experience with VMware, RedHat Linux, and JBoss, alongside strong English and Chinese

Qualifications

• Requires Higher Diploma / Degree in IT or related field.
• Minimum 6-8 years IT experience.
• Experience with enterprise-scale IT infrastructure (>1,000 VMs) and cross-site networks.
• Hands-on with IBM DB2 UDB, Oracle RAC, MySQL.
• VMware experience (v7+).
• Experience with RedHat Linux and JBoss.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 emergency support and handle out-of-hours troubleshooting.

Job description

Infrastructure Systems Specialist (PaaS & Multi-Database)

Provide expert technical advice on the administration, operation, and configuration of GCIS equipment, including virtualized servers, enterprise storage, and backup systems

Perform in-depth problem diagnosis, capacity management, and performance tuning for GCIS Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS/EGIS) application servers and databases (IBM DB2, Oracle, and MySQL)

Deliver intensive database support, including complex backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability (HA) configurations

Facilitate system software upgrades within a virtualized environment and provide technical execution support for data center relocation projects

Assist the Project Manager in monitoring contractor performance and conducting rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) on project deliverables

Provide round-the-clock emergency support when required and handle ad-hoc troubleshooting outside normal office hours

Requirements:

• Higher Diploma / Degree in Information Technologies or related subjects
• At least 6-8 years working experience in IT
• Proven track record in supporting enterprise-scale IT infrastructure (>1,000 virtual servers) with dual-active production sites across cross-site networks, SAN storage, and Linux-based J2EE enterprise applications
• Hands-on technical experience with MySQL, IBM DB2 UDB, and Oracle RAC database systems
• Practical experience with VMware (version 7 or above)
• Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and RedHat JBoss application servers is highly preferred
• Experience reviewing and conducting QA on vendor and contractor deliverables
• Good command in spoken and written English and Chinese
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong self-motivation, solid interpersonal skills, and a collaborative team attitude
