Job summary
Varmeego Limited is seeking a candidate to lead system development, testing and maintenance for large-scale projects in Hong Kong. The role involves supervising junior staff in front-end and back-end Java web development, performing technical analysis, and deploying applications.
The ideal candidate has a degree in CS/IT, at least 5 years IT experience (3+ in IT implementation projects), with strong knowledge of web-based systems, documentation, and English/Chinese communication.
Qualifications
- Degree in computer science/IT or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification IT experience with 3+ years in IT implementation projects.
- Experience in analysis, design, and implementation of web-based application systems.
- Ability to produce system specifications and perform testing.
- Experience with Java development, deployment and server maintenance.
- Knowledge of JBoss, MS SQL and Windows Server is preferable.
- Good communication skills in English and Chinese.

The successful candidate will be responsible for system development, testing and maintenance support of large scale projects. He/she will be involved in the following areas:
To participate and supervise junior staff to perform front-end and back-end Java-based web application development
Perform technical analysis and system design
Perform Java programming, testing and application deployment
Prepare system documentation and user manual
Requirements
Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification IT experience including at least 3 years of experience in one or more IT implementation project(s)
Minimum 3 years of IT experience that covers the following area:
conducting analysis, design and implementation of web-based application systems
producing system specifications
ensuring conformance of software packages with user requirements
conducting system testing
conducting system installation and server maintenance
Knowledge with JBoss, MS SQL, Windows Server is preferable.
Work independent, analytical, good problem solving skills, and must be able to cope with tight project schedule
Good communication skill in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
