Job summary

JD.com is seeking a highly organized and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of our extensive vehicle fleet, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery services across our network.

You’ll develop strategic plans for fleet acquisition, maintenance, and disposal; manage procurement, registration, insurance, scheduling, and tracking; establish preventative maintenance programs; and lead fleet drivers and support staff with a data‑driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management.
• Experience managing a diverse fleet (trucks, vans, motorcycles).
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and automotive systems.
• Familiarity with transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
• Experience with fleet management software (telematics, GPS tracking, maintenance scheduling).
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Analytical and data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for fleet acquisition, maintenance, and disposal, optimizing for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage the full lifecycle of all fleet vehicles, including procurement, registration, insurance, scheduling, and tracking.
• Establish and enforce preventative maintenance schedules and repair programs to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.
• Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, and driver performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all local, national, and industry-specific transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers, vendors, and service providers for vehicle purchases, parts, maintenance, and fuel.
• Oversee the hiring, training, and performance management of fleet drivers and support staff.
• Utilize fleet management software and GPS tracking systems to optimize routes, track assets, and generate performance reports.
• Prepare and manage the fleet budget, analyzing expenditures and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Implement and manage safety protocols and training programs for drivers to minimize accidents and ensure compliance.
