Job summary

Leadingnation is seeking a Capacity Building Manager to lead governance, development and external relations across its strategic plan. The role focuses on building partnerships, guiding fundraising initiatives, and ensuring strong organizational performance within sports, youth development, or community services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in sports, youth development, or community/nonprofit services.
• 1 year's experience in sports program creation and implementation
• Proven fundraising, sponsorship, or grant writing experience
• Comfortable owning policy/procedure work and translating it into practical, adopted process
• Confident representing the organization externally through pitching, networking, and partnership building
• Strong written communication skills with marketing or brand experience a plus
• Self-directed and able to run multiple strategic work streams with light day-to-day supervision

Responsibilities

• Lead leadership and organizational management across the Foundation’s strategic plan.
• Collaborate with Board and staff to drive strategic priorities.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure long-term sustainability.
• Apply innovative thinking and performance measurements for decision-making.
• Build relationships with NGOs and community leaders regionally.
• Maintain ongoing Board communications and provide timely updates.
• Manage reporting for grants and sponsorships.
• Drive development, events and fundraising with staff and Board support.
• Cultivate relationships with individual, foundation, and corporate supporters.
• Ensure financial stability with cashflow management.
• Identify and manage grants and sponsorship processes.
• Promote organization and programs publicly; act as spokesperson.
