Job summary

MIT Semiconductor Pte Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission and service semiconductor equipment at customer sites in Hong Kong. You will provide pre- and post-sales technical support, troubleshoot field issues, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with semiconductor equipment, strong customer focus, computer literacy and the ability to travel overseas on short notice.

Qualifications

• Higher NITEC / ITC / Diploma in Electronics/Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience servicing semiconductor equipment such as sorters, inspection or marking equipment.
• Willingness to travel overseas on short notice.
• Computer literacy is required and strong customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, install, and commission new semiconductor equipment at customer sites.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for upgrades and new designs.
• Troubleshoot process-related problems and identify root causes for timely resolutions.
• Work with Engineering and Manufacturing on design, quality and performance issues.
• Prepare technical reports and feedback on machine performance.
• Support service revenue growth through spare parts and maintenance opportunities.

Job description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set-up, install, buy-off and commission new semiconductor equipment at customer sites
• Provide pre and post sales technical support to service and upgrade equipment e.g. change-kits, new design modules, features and capabilities
• Trouble-shoot process related problems and identify root cause(s) for effective and timely resolution of field issues
• Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing on design, quality and performance issues
• Assist in overall machine performance evaluation with technical reports and feedback
• Cost management to lower service support expenses during warranty and post warranty

(b) Technical Training

• Provide technical training for customers on set-up, operations and maintenance
• Update and maintain all service related documentation or reports in databases (e.g. customer feedback system) for effective record, monitoring and resolution of customer issues

(c) Defend Customer base

• Defend customer installed base with regular field service reports
• Provide competitive information and market intelligence on ground to Service and Sales
• Build and maintain strong customer relations on ground

(d) Support Service and Sales revenue growth

• Strive to convert demo POs to confirmed POs at customer sites with strong technical and customer service support
• Identify opportunities on ground for added revenue in terms of spare part sales, preventive maintenance etc

MAIN JOB SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Higher NITEC / ITC / Diploma in Electronics/Mechanical Engineering
• Some experience in servicing in sorter, inspection and marking equipment
• Laser marking experience will have added adventage
• Computer literate
• Excellent customer orientation skills
• Able to travel overseas at short notice
