Job summary

Fairmont Shipping in Hong Kong is seeking a Technical Superintendent to oversee maintenance, repairs, drydock activities, and class surveys for a fleet of ships. You will supervise hull, machinery and electrical work and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role requires a Chief Engineer License, 5+ years of seagoing experience, and 1–2 years shore experience; willingness to travel and strong reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Maritime education with an internationally recognized Chief Engineer License.
• Minimum 5 years’ seagoing experience, preferably as Chief Engineer.
• Minimum 1–2 years shore experience as Superintendent in an international ship owning/ship management company preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise a fleet of ships (dry bulkers and PCC experience preferred).
• Administer ship’s planned maintenance program.
• Attend and/or supervise hull, machinery and electrical repairs, routine and emergency drydock, class surveys and other mandatory inspections.
• Supervise new buildings and attend sea trials.
• Write detailed attendance reports with photos and sketches for management.
