Job summary

A maritime management company is looking for a Technical Superintendent in Hong Kong. The role involves managing vessel reports, conducting data analysis on performance metrics, and visiting vessels to assess their condition. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience with Oil Tankers, preferably as a Chief or Second Engineer. Strong knowledge of PMS and SMS systems is essential. This position offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in vessel management and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Min 3 years of experience in a similar capacity on Oil Tankers.
• Experience as Chief or Second Engineer preferred.
• Knowledge of PMS and SMS systems is essential.
• Experience in dry docking and technical management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage reports from vessels and file them systematically.
• Carry out data analysis to ascertain vessel health.
• Visit vessels and report on condition and maintenance.
• Formulate a dynamic work plan and action list with the vessel's command, to ensure that the vessel is maintained in accordance with the Owner's policy and to receive regular reports as to its progress.
• Visit the vessels as and when required and reporting on general condition, repairs and maintenance, crew performance, safety, environmental protection, and any actions required. Discuss with Ship's Command the work plan, running costs, spares and stores and other issues of concern and reporting on same.
• Prepare technical specs for dockings & pre-purchase inspections in Asia region.
• Assist in carrying out technical analysis for new purchases.

Responsibilities

• Manage regular reports from vessels assigned to him/her and file them in a structured approach.
• Review and follow up on routine reports from the vessel.
• Carry out regular data analysis of costs, PMS and other KPI factors in order to ascertain health of the ship as far ship management is concerned.
• Formulate a dynamic work plan and action list with the vessel's command, to ensure that the vessel is maintained in accordance with the Owner's policy and to receive regular reports as to its progress.
• Visit the vessels as and when required and reporting on general condition, repairs and maintenance, crew performance, safety, environmental protection, and any actions required. Discuss with Ship's Command the work plan, running costs, spares and stores and other issues of concern and reporting on same.
• Prepare technical specs for dockings & pre-purchase inspections in Asia region.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications

• Min 3 years of experience in similar capacity on Oil Tankers
• Prior experience as Chief or Second Engineer with minimum sailing experience preferably on Oil Tankers. Otherwise, sailing experience on Oil Tankers is required.
• Prior experience in dry docking and technical management will be an advantage
• Candidate should have good knowledge of PMS and SMS system
