Qualifications

• Bachelor degree holder with at least 6 years of solid underwriting experience in life insurance, including 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Underwriting medical authority of not less than extra mortality 50%, with high net worth experience preferable.
• Good integrity, quality-oriented, and strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Solutions thinker with strong analytical skills and independence.
• Open-minded, flexible, proactive and able to handle stress.
• Good leadership and team-building abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); fluent in English and Chinese, Putonghua preferred.
• Professional qualifications such as FLMI, ACS, ALU or equivalent will be given priority.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the underwriting core system, the underwriting rule engine and the point-of-sales platform.
• Collect and analyze information from an underwriting perspective to prepare user requirements.
• Manage project timelines and progress, and ensure the quality and timely delivery of assigned projects.
• Liaise with users, IT and vendors to design and enhance business solutions.
• Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and conduct end-user training. Support ad-hoc production issues.
• Analyzing underwriting data to identify trends, reporting findings and making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
• Perform underwriting risk assessments within the delegated authority limit to ensure accurate, fair, prompt and appropriate underwriting decisions.
• Work closely with stakeholders, e.g. legal, compliance, IT, product, business development and reinsurers, to support the development and review of new initiatives.
