Job summary

Ingrid Millet Limited in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced IT System Engineer to maintain and advance our IT infrastructure. You will manage servers, networks, backups, and security, ensuring reliable operations across on-premise and hybrid environments.

You will participate in projects, migrations, and deployments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and keep systems secure with monitoring, patching, and incident response. Fluency in English and Chinese is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in system engineering, system administration, or comparable IT roles.
• Experience in on-premise or hybrid enterprise environments, healthcare/retail/hospitality exposure preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems in virtualized and baremetal environments.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and networking infrastructure.
• Deploy and administer regular backups and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
• Design, implement, and monitor secure network segments; perform vulnerability remediation.
• Diagnose incidents and resolve issues remotely or on-site to minimize downtime.
• Assist with IT project rollouts such as migrations, upgrades, and new deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server and Linux systems in both virtualized and baremetal environments.
• Configuration, deployment and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, Wi‑Fi, VPNs and other networking infrastructure.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Deploy and administer regular backup and security systems.
• Monitor backup health, manage restores, and continuously improve DR procedures.

Network & Security Operations

• Design, implement, and maintain secure network segments across local and remote company networks.
• Conduct regular security audits, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Track health, performance metrics, and security alerts of IT systems to maintain system reliance and stability.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents remotely or on‑site, ensuring minimal downtime.

Project Support

• Assist with IT project rollouts (e.g., migrations, upgrades, new service deployments).

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent working experience).

Experience

• Minimum 5years in system engineering, system administration, or comparable IT roles within on-premise or hybrid enterprise environments (work experience within healthcare, retail or hospitality industries preferred but not required).

Technical Skills

• Windows Server & Linux administration in both virtualized and baremetal environments
• Routing, switching, firewall, VPN, DNS
• Email server configuration and administration
• Active Directory and identity management and administration
• PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
