Job summary

HKBN is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to install, configure, and harden Red Hat based servers, manage virtualization platforms, and ensure high availability. You will implement security controls, automation, and documentation while supporting container provisioning and open source software.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Linux admin experience, RHCSA or equivalent, strong problem-solving and ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years solid experience in Linux administration, implementation and production support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure.
• RHCSA/LPIC-1/CompTIA Linux+ certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and harden Red Hat based Linux servers.
• Handle system installation, upgrade, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, patching and monitoring.
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls; automate and document operations.

About the Role

• Install, configure and perform hardening of Redhat based Linux server
• Handle system installation, upgrade, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, patching, and monitoring of information systems including but not limited to Linux servers and various Virtualization platform
• With basic knowledge in monitoring tools and SAN administration
• Process the insight of a proper enterprise IT environment including latest technology trend, operation efficiency and software development practice
• In depth understanding on high availability infrastructure setup, including load sharing, distribute processing, etc
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
• Produce systems that are scalable, automated, and well-documented, and train others to take on operations.
• Utilize Container Platform for container provisioning, deploying, scaling, and management will be advantages
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned
• Comfortable with supporting open source software

If you also have the following database administrator experience will be of advantages:

• Perform database performance tuning, administration, troubleshooting and optimization.
• Improve and optimize database administration and management with coding and automation with a focus on the performance, high availability, and reliability.
• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of enterprise applications and databases.

About You

• Higher Diploma or above in Computer Science / Information Technology or related discipline
• At least 3 years solid experience in Linux administration, implementation, and production support
• Good analytical and problems solving skills with strong self-motivation and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently with good time management
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple demands and changing priorities
• Certificate Holder of RHCSA/ LPIC-1 / CompTIA Linux+ is an advantage
• Holder of PMP / CISA / CISSP is an advantage
• Candidate with more experience and with high caliber will also be considered as Senior Linux Administrator

If you are also have database administrator experience with the following will be advantages:

• Hands-on experience with Oracle database RAC cluster and Data Guard
• Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications
• Holder of OCP is an advantage
