Job summary

Cathay Pacific Information Technology Department seeks a Senior Solution Lead to drive technology direction and solution delivery within a business domain. You will lead a dynamic delivery team, shaping roadmaps and ensuring alignment with business goals and architecture.

Responsibilities include partnering with stakeholders, guiding development, and mentoring delivery teams while promoting Agile and DevSecOps practices across initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years IT experience across software development, system analysis and delivery
• Degree in Information Technology or related discipline; master’s preferred
• Proven leadership in delivering medium to large-scale technology initiatives
• Experience managing software teams and coordinating with vendors/delivery partners
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication
• Experience in Agile environments and DevSecOps practices
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and modern software architecture (advantage)

Role Introduction

Reports to: Portfolio Solution Manager - Cathay Subsidiary Services

You will be part of the Information Technology Department (IMT), seated within the Cathay Subsidiary Services (CSS) unit, the centralised support function providing subject matter expertise to our subsidiaries, including Cathay Dining, Cathay Cargo Terminal, HAS by Cathay, and Vogue Laundry.

As a Senior Solution Lead, you drive technology direction and solution delivery within a business domain. You lead a dynamic delivery team and ensure solutions align with the business vision, goals and technology architecture.

This role offers you the opportunity to influence product roadmaps, explore emerging technologies and lead medium to large-scale initiatives. You also broaden your leadership experience through cross-functional collaboration, team mentorship and engagement with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic priorities, challenges and requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions
• Provide pre-project consulting and shape product roadmaps that align technology investments with business goals
• Lead the design, development, implementation and support of IT products and applications across a business domain
• Collaborate with developers, analysts and architects to deliver scalable, innovative and fit-for-purpose technology solutions
• Drive medium to large-scale initiatives, ensuring successful delivery through effective planning, governance and risk management
• Oversee solution quality by ensuring appropriate testing across security, performance and integration requirements
• Manage and mentor delivery teams, Solution Analysts and external partners while fostering Agile and DevSecOps practices
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to drive innovation, efficiency and business value
• Lead digital transformation initiatives and identify opportunities to improve business processes, user experience and operational efficiency through technology
• Drive the adoption of AI, automation and Power Platform solutions, and develop simple prototypes, low-code applications, workflows and AI agents to validate ideas and accelerate business value

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of relevant IT experience across software development, system analysis, business analysis, solution design and testing
• Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline, with a master's degree preferred
• Proven experience leading and delivering medium to large-scale technology initiatives
• Experience managing software development teams and coordinating with external vendors or delivery partners
• Strong stakeholder management skills with extensive client-facing experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement
• Experience working in Agile environments and promoting modern delivery practices such as DevSecOps
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, APIs, mobility solutions or modern software architecture is an advantage
