Job summary

Agilis Robotics Limited is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to lead hands-on software programming and real-time algorithm development for robotics and medical applications.

You will work across mechanical, biomedical, and clinical teams to translate surgical requirements into scalable software features while mentoring junior engineers and driving code quality through Git-based reviews.

Qualifications

• Master degree or above in related field.
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, CUDA, OpenCV.
• Proficiency in use of AI tools.
• Hands-on experience with automated software testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with medical software life cycle processes (IEC 62304) and quality management systems (ISO 13485) is highly desirable.
• Certified ISO 13485 internal auditor is preferred.
• Responsible, independent with strong problem-solving skills. Team spirit and ability to work under pressure.
• Innovative and research minds are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Daily programming, documentation and testing.
• Drive real-time algorithm development (C++, Python) for robotics kinematics, dynamics, and motion planning.
• Perform unit, integration and hardware-in-the-loop testing to ensure safety in clinical environments.
• Generate and maintain DHF and traceability matrices per medical device standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical, biomedical and clinical teams to translate surgical requirements into software features.
• Lead code reviews and mentor junior engineers on the R&D team.
• Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions with timelines.
• Collaborate to design and build applications.
• Handle ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Senior R&D Engineer (Robotics and Software)

• Responsible for daily programming, documents, and testing.
• Drive daily hands-on software programming and real-time algorithm development (C++, Python) for robotic kinematics, dynamics, and motion planning.
• Conduct rigorous unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to guarantee zero-defect safety in clinical operating environments.
• Generate and maintain meticulous software technical documentation, traceability matrices, and Design History Files (DHF) in accordance with international medical device standards.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, biomedical, and clinical teams to translate complex surgical requirements into scalable software features.
• Lead code reviews, establish best practices for version control (Git), and mentor junior engineers on the R&D team.
• Work with the team to identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, formulate solutions and execute the plan; estimate scope and timelines.
• Collaborate with team members to define, design, and build applications.
• Support any other ad hoc tasks assigned.
