Job summary

Leadingnation is seeking a hands-on generalist to lead a lean Technology & Operations team in Hong Kong, ensuring secure, HKMA-compliant operations for the branch. The role covers daily banking operations, IT infrastructure management, outsourcing oversight, and risk mitigation across technology and regulatory domains.

You will collaborate with Head Office and external auditors, drive automation, and act as the S72B Manager while mentoring staff to foster a culture of risk awareness.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Banking, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 8-10 years of corporate/wholesale banking operations and/or IT management experience.
• Hands-on generalist leader capable of navigating ambiguity in a lean environment.
• Deep understanding of HKMA regulations, operational risk, local clearing architectures, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management to collaborate with staff, vendors, and Head Office.
• Fluency in English and Cantonese/Mandarin; ECF qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive and manage back-office operations including clearing, remittances via CHATS/SWIFT, treasury, trade finance, and loan admin with risk-compliant settlement.
• Evaluate and optimize business processes for cost-effectiveness while leading core banking and system implementations.
• Manage local IT infrastructure and networks to ensure high availability aligned with Head Office standards.
• Ensure compliance with HKMA TM-G-1 and SA-2 on Technology Risk Management and Outsourcing.
• Formulate and test BCP/DR policies and perform due diligence on third-party vendors and HO outsourcing setups.
• Mentor and develop a lean, agile team; act as liaison between the Hong Kong branch, Head Office, and auditors.
• Act as designated S72B Manager and support strategic automation initiatives.
