Job summary

Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd in Hong Kong seeks a Project Manager to oversee the Operational Risk Management Department's initiatives. You will advise on controls, conduct assurance reviews, and drive risk-related projects from planning through execution.

Qualifications

• Degree in risk, finance, accounting or related field.
• ECF on Operational Risk Management certification preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of project management experience in banks or Big 4 firms.
• At least 3 years in operational, technology or compliance risks.
• Solid knowledge of HK regulatory requirements (HKMA SPM OR-1, OR-2, SA-2, CA-G-5).
• Knowledge of overseas regulatory requirements (e.g. Modern Slavery Act) is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Chinese; strong written communication.

Responsibilities

• Advise on and challenge the design and effectiveness of controls established by the first line of defence for operational risk management.
• Conduct control assurance reviews to ensure risk controls remain effective and are implemented properly in daily operations.
• Formulate and execute the operational risk project plan with scope, timeline and resources.
• Hold regular project meetings with stakeholders to track progress and address issues.
• Document and report project progress to management until completion.
• Elevate significant issues to management for attention and steering.
• Supervise external consultants and service providers to ensure quality and pragmatism.
• Liaise with regulators and industry associations and handle inquiries about the project.
• Handle other risk-related matters such as Risk Appetite Statement, ICAAP, Third-Party Risk Management.
• Take up ad hoc tasks assigned by management.
