Job summary

Bank of China (Hong Kong) is seeking an experienced risk management professional to join its Retail Banking middle office. You will oversee operational risk controls, conduct reviews, and coordinate remediation with stakeholders across units to strengthen compliance and governance.

The role requires 3-5 years in risk management within financial services, strong English and Chinese communication, and familiarity with regulatory requirements for Southeast Asia markets.

Qualifications

• Degree holder or above in Business, Law or Risk Management.
• 3-5 years’ working experience in product, channel, risk management or risk consulting in financial sector.
• Prior exposure to document review or process audit preferred.
• Fair understanding of product, process and channel management in consumer banking.
• Fluency in English and Chinese; excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Solid experience in Risk Control or related professional qualifications preferred.
• ECF(ORM)/AML/CFT/Fintech/Green and Sustainable Finance credentials are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-department projects, coordinate with subject matter experts, provide effective recommendations and follow-up, monitor progress and report status to senior management.
• Perform document review and gap analysis; translate findings into actionable insights with study on procedures, risk controls and frontline pain points.
• Establish insights on compliance requirements and audit findings; keep abreast of regulator changes; develop gap analysis and recommend changes to operation procedures.
• Provide operational risk advice for new services/products; ensure control measures meet regulatory requirements; compile gap analyses, guidelines and SOPs.
• Develop digital journey and translate to process re-engineering and system enhancement opportunities; assess feasibility of process optimization from customer/frontline perspective.
• Support ad hoc projects as required.
