Job summary

Leadingnation in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Manager – Operational Risk to lead and enhance the bank’s OR framework in HK. You will ensure effective identification, assessment, monitoring, mitigation, and reporting of operational risks across business lines and support functions, aligned to regulatory expectations and internal governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Finance, Risk Management or related discipline.
• Typically 8–12+ years of operational risk experience in banking/financial services with senior leadership exposure.
• Strong understanding of operational risk drivers, controls governance and risk taxonomy.
• Deep knowledge of ORMC practices, governance and reporting to senior management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to influence outcomes.
• Strong project management skills with governance timelines and audit readiness.
• High attention to detail and documentary discipline for audit/regulatory needs.

Responsibilities

• Own the Operational Risk framework components in HK, including policies, standards, governance and operating rhythm.
• Drive implementation of governance across business units (risk committees, KRIs, escalation and action tracking).
• Ensure risk appetite alignment and monitoring against operational risk tolerance/limits.
• Lead ORSA/risk and control assessment cycles for key processes and business areas.
• Facilitate deep-dives, thematic reviews and scenario analysis for emerging risks.
• Support risk assessment for major change initiatives from an OR perspective.
• Oversee loss event management, incident reporting, near-miss capture and root-cause analysis.
• Drive issue management and remediation tracking to closure with sustainable actions.
• Support control testing/validation and improve control effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain Operational Risk KRIs for HK, including thresholds and trends.
• Provide high-quality reporting to senior management and governance committees.
• Ensure audit-ready documentation and traceability of assessments and actions.
• Coordinate with Internal Audit and compliance on risk-related findings and remediation.
• Act as trusted partner to business heads and functions; coach 1st line risk ownership.
• Lead cross-functional risk projects in HK scope.
