Job summary

Octopus Holdings Limited is seeking a senior leader to manage a team of software engineers and drive AI-enabled SDLC across back-end systems. You will oversee project delivery, governance, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure secure, high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on AI practices, and strengthening Agile delivery while maintaining strong communication with customers and partners in a fast-paced FinTech environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in CS / IS / CE or equivalent.
• 12+ years in system development, PM and IT ops; 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience with payment, rewards, settlement and Oracle ERP Finance modules is a plus.
• Hands-on AI tools or AI-assisted SDLC experience preferred.
• Experience with Oracle, Web services, MQ, AWS and Azure; familiarity with AI tools and LLMs.
• Proven track record with external customers and managing large projects.
• Strong knowledge of modern PM methodologies and faster time to market.
• Strong Java and Spring background; excellent English communication.

Job Responsibilities

People Management

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of software engineers to support both internal and external customers.
• Coach, train and develop Technical personnel to keep knowledge of core technology, including the application of Artificial Intelligence tools
• Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Enforce compliance of policies and procedures.
• Support career development for team members.

Project Management

• Lead technical development and project delivery for Octopus back-end systems, including feasibility study, solution evaluation and prototype development as required.
• Establish and manage project scope, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks, issues and change control; coordinate requirements, SIT, UAT, implementation and deployment with relevant parties.
• Manage stakeholders, customers, vendors and business partners, ensuring timely decisions, transparent communication and effective resolution of delivery issues.
• Oversee the end-to-end SDLC, using delivery metrics and quality gates to ensure timely, secure and high-quality outcomes.
• Promote best practices in Agile delivery, coding standards, testing automation, CI/CD, DevSecOps and production readiness.

AI-enabled SDLC

• Identify, prioritise and implement practical AI use cases across requirements analysis, software design, coding, code review, testing, documentation and operational support.
• Define guardrails for the responsible use of AI, including data protection, security, intellectual property, human review, traceability and compliance with company policies.
• Evaluate AI tools and vendors through structured pilots; define success measures and track adoption, productivity, quality and risk outcomes.
• Lead change management, training and knowledge sharing to embed effective AI-assisted engineering practices across development teams.

Knowledge Management

• Knowledge sharing within the organisation to retain knowledge to enhance quality, profitability and market share.

Job Requirements

• University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in system development, project management and IT operations, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience in payment, rewards, settlement and reconciliation solutions Oracle ERP Finance related modules is an advantage
• Hands-on experience applying AI tools or AI assisted practices in one or more stages of the SDLC is strongly preferred
• Experience in Oracle, Web service, MQ, AWS and MS Azure. Familiarity with AI coding assistants, enterprise AI platforms, LLM and RAG is an advantage
• Track records in dealing with external customers, management a development team and completing large and complex projects
• Strong knowledge in contemporary project management methodologies to enhance the company’s products for faster time to market
• Strong background in Java, Spring framework and so on
• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written English
