Job summary

ADECCO is seeking a seasoned Workflow Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise workflow applications in a secure financial services tech environment in Hong Kong. You will build backend solutions using Java, Spring, IBM MQ and Oracle DB, create reusable frameworks, and collaborate across architecture, infrastructure, and development teams to deliver scalable, enterprise-grade applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5–6 years of experience as a Workflow Engineer, Application Developer, or related role within Financial Services.
• Strong hands-on programming experience with Java and Spring Framework.
• Solid experience in application framework development; frontend-focused candidates not suitable.
• Proven experience with Oracle Database, SQL development and optimization.
• Experience supporting and developing applications on IBM AIX platforms.
• Hands-on experience with IBM MQ, JSON, and enterprise integration technologies.
• Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with SSO, authentication, authorization, and application security controls.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to participate in on-call support arrangements.
• Fluent in Cantonese and English, with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise workflow applications and frameworks.
• Develop and maintain backend solutions using Java, Spring, JSON, IBM MQ, and Oracle DB.
• Build reusable frameworks, components, and services to support enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, infrastructure teams, and developers to deliver scalable solutions.
• Participate in system analysis, technical design, coding, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Integrate applications with SSO and authentication services.
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis.
• Support DevOps/DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, security controls, and release management.
• Work with IBM AIX infrastructure teams and middleware platforms.
• Prepare technical documentation and development standards.
• Provide production support and participate in on-call rotation.
