Job summary

Pathos Consultancy Limited in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced software developer to drive strategic business initiatives and maintain critical application systems across the bank/financial sector. You will design, code, test, debug, document and implement computer programs while providing on-call support when incidents occur.

The role requires a university degree and at least 8 years of mission-critical development experience, with strong Java skills and web-based development.

Qualifications

• University degree with at least 8 years of mission-critical system development experience.
• Strong experience in Java programming and web-based development.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Vue.js, JasperReports, WebSphere MQ, WAS, Oracle, DB2, and X.509 is highly preferred.
• Mobile application development experience, especially in iOS/Android using Swift/Objective-C, Universal Links for iOS Apps using AASA, MVC, and mobile UI/UX design, is an advantage.
• Strong schema design and Oracle/DB2 DBA background are desirable for database-related roles.
• Good technical writing skills and prior experience in the banking or financial sector are preferred.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Candidates with less experience will be considered for Junior position

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic business initiatives and maintain existing application systems.
• Participate in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and implementing computer programs.
• Analyse and define user requirements.
• Design and develop system specifications.
• Produce technical documentation where applicable.
• Provide on-call support for emergency production incidents and firefighting when required.
