Summary

Our client is a tier-1 Chinese financial institution on the sell-side, who has progressively expanded with a global footprint. As part of their commitment to maintaining a high-availability infrastructure platform, they are seeking an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to ensure the availability of infrastructure platform (servers, storage, virtualization), lead complex technology initiatives, enhance global market access, and drive technical excellence within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Strategy & Project Delivery: Lead the end-to-end hands-on design, architecture, implementation, and ongoing support for enterprise infrastructure across data centers, public/private clouds, co-location facilities, networks, and cybersecurity environments.
• Full Project Life Cycle Ownership: Manage initiatives from requirements gathering, Proof of Concept (PoC), and technical evaluation through to architecture design, implementation, testing, and continuous maintenance.
• Operations & Service Excellence: Oversee daily operational maintenance to ensure maximum availability, resilience, and stability of critical trading and business systems.
• Vendor & SLA Management: Partner closely with external service providers and vendors from procurement and initial setup to day-to-day incident management and strict SLA compliance.
• Governance & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce, review, and update IT infrastructure policies, standards, and operational guidelines in strict alignment with industry best practices and financial regulatory frameworks.
• Maintenance & Support: Perform scheduled non-office hour changes, system maintenance, and critical incident response as required.

Key Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience: 8–12 years of extensive, hands-on IT infrastructure project delivery experience within financial services, investment banking, or securities brokerage environments with international exposure.
• Technical Skills:
  • Linux Administration: Comprehensive expertise in full life-cycle Linux management (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, and major domestic Chinese distros) including evaluation, automated deployment, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Automation & Scripting: Strong proficiency in Shell/Linux scripting and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Cloud & Virtualization: Practical experience with multi-cloud platforms (AWS, AliCloud, Azure) and virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Huawei DCS).
  • Capital Markets & Financial Infra: Hands-on background in exchange co-location setups, cross-region data center deployments, multi-asset trading connectivity, market data feeds, and clearing connections. Experience with ultra-low latency (ULL), high-frequency trading (HFT), high-performance computing (HPC), or AI infrastructure is highly valued.
  • Vendor & Vendor Landscape: Broad understanding of global and Mainland China domestic hardware, software, and cloud solution providers.
• Soft Skills & Capabilities:
  • Exceptional troubleshooting, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong team player with a proactive problem-solving mindset, adaptable to fast-paced, multi-tasking environments with tight timelines.
• Languages: Excellent communication skills, fluent in both Mandarin and English.
