Job summary

The Career Works Limited is recruiting on behalf of a large commercial bank for an IT infrastructure Specialist. You will plan, configure and administer servers, storage, and backup, and support datacenter operations including hardware moves with vendors. A strong background in UNIX/Linux, backup tools, SAN management, and automation is required.

Flexibility for off-hours support is expected. The role focuses on server/storage management, patching, DR readiness, and 3rd level incident

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in UNIX/Linux and backup tools (Commvault/NetBackup).
Datacenter operations experience; familiarity with server hardware, cabling and equipment.
Solid SAN storage and SAN switch administration experience.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, Ethernet, VLANs, routing and IP.
Experience with vendor management and project BAU support.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, configure and administer servers, storage, and backup.
Assist datacenter operations including hardware moves and replacements with vendors.
Perform Unix/Linux server upgrades, patching and administration.
Evaluate and implement automation for patching, capacity monitoring, configuration management and backup/recovery.
Assist to plan enhancements and refresh of related technology infrastructure.
Support upgrade and migration projects (OS upgrades, SAN storage migrations).
Enforce and execute change management procedures.
Provide 3rd level support for escalated incidents from vendors.
Act as infrastructure focal point for business application support.
