Job summary

Leadingnation is hiring a Database Administrator in Hong Kong to manage PostgreSQL and MySQL environments, ensuring data integrity, availability, security and performance while participating in an on-call rotation. You will work closely with IT stakeholders, vendors and teams to deliver high-quality database services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience including database administration.
• 3 years’ hands-on PostgreSQL/MySQL experience required.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL installation, upgrades and migration.
• Experience with patches, backups, tuning and capacity planning.
• Proficient in Linux, shell scripting and command-line DB admin.

Responsibilities

• Provide DBA support for PostgreSQL/MySQL to application developers.
• Ensure integrity, availability, security and performance of DB systems.
• Monitor uptime and propose improvements for efficiency.
• Perform backup, recovery and maintenance tasks daily/weekly.
• Lead automated monitoring and proactive remediation efforts.
• Create development, staging and production DB instances and migrations.
• Manage logins, user accounts and permissions.
