Job summary

Gfi World in Hong Kong is seeking a Database Administrator to manage database and system operations for GCIS. You will handle installation, configuration, patching, backups, monitoring, and performance tuning across Linux and Windows platforms.

The role requires at least 3 years IT experience, expertise in MySQL/MariaDB or Oracle, and knowledge of PostgreSQL or MS SQL Server as a plus. Bilingual English/Chinese is preferred; junior candidates may be considered.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant IT experience.
• Experience in design and administration of MySQL or MariaDB or Oracle.
• Experience in PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server or IBM DB2 is a plus.
• Experience in NoSQL is a plus.
• Experience in system programming and administration on Linux or Windows for automation is a plus.
• Proficient in English and Chinese.
• Candidates with less experience will be considered as Junior DBA.

Responsibilities

• Administer databases and systems: install, configure, patch, backup/restore, monitor, tune, and capacity plan.
• Provide technical support and incident handling for database components.
• Maintain high performance, availability, security, and business continuity.
• Perform maintenance including upgrades, migrations, and DR drills.
