Job summary

CITIC CLSA is seeking a Database Administrator in Hong Kong to be the primary resolver of complex issues, collaborating with IT stakeholders, vendors, and teams to deliver high-quality database services.

The role requires 5-7 years in database administration, strong PostgreSQL/MySQL expertise, Linux, scripting, and a focus on uptime, capacity planning, and automation. On-call shifts are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience including database administration.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL / MySQL database administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, shell scripting and database patches.
• Experience with backup, recovery, replication and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Provide DBA support for PostgreSQL and MySQL in application development.
• Ensure data integrity, security, availability, and performance of DB systems.
• Monitor uptime and performance; implement improvements for efficiency.
• Participate in capacity planning, space management and data maintenance.
• Lead automation and proactive monitoring to reduce downtime.
• Support development, staging, and production environments and migrations.
