Job summary

WE Asia Pte Ltd seeks a hands-on Senior Application Project Manager to take end-to-end ownership of internal application projects. You will drive planning, execution, governance and go-live across cross-functional initiatives, coordinating with senior stakeholders, development teams and external vendors in a delivery-focused role.

You will mentor junior PMs, manage budgets of HKD 10M+, and ensure robust reporting and artefacts.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration, IT, or Computer Science.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certifications are highly regarded.
• 5+ years in project/program delivery within complex enterprise environments.
• Experience leading application projects (ERP/CRM or internal apps).
• Led large-scale technology projects with HKD 10M+ budgets as PM.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Application Project Manager to take end-to-end ownership of internal application projects within the client. This is a delivery-focused role where the PM will act as the overall project owner, responsible for driving planning, execution, governance, and go-live activities across complex, cross-functional initiatives. This role requires an independent, self-starting professional who can manage senior stakeholders, internal development teams, and external vendors with minimal supervision.

• Lead end-to-end project delivery (Business Case Development, Design, Implementation and Closure)
• Plan and lead projects working with cross-functional teams( Onshore and Offshore) in IT and Business to deliver project outcomes using Waterfall, Hybrid, or Agile delivery models.
• Develop and maintain a detailed financial plans and resource allocation plans for the project portfolio.
• Deliver, maintain and update high-quality project artefacts, reporting, and documentation.
• Engage with and manage senior stakeholders, vendors, and external partners, , ensuring alignment and timely decision-making.
• Support change management, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proactively identify and manage project changes, risks, and issues that may impact delivery, owning escalations and driving resolution.
• Maintain continuous communication with the stakeholders, working groups, and steering committees on the project status and project reporting.
• Promote continuous learning within the project team and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Mentor junior project managers and team members, championing best-practice delivery.
• Governance & Reporting: Ensure the project team delivers all governance deliverables on time, support steering committee meetings, and present key project metrics (budget, timeline, risks, decisions required).
• A recognized university degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Professional project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are highly regarded.
• At least 5+ years of experience in project/program delivery within complex enterprise environments.
• Proven experience managing application projects across enterprise applications, internal business applications, CRM, ERP, employee-facing applications, or custom software development.
• Must have personally led large-scale technology projects with budgets of HKD 10M+ as the overall Project Manager (not as a supporting PM operating under a Programme Manager or Project Director).
• Proven experience managing senior stakeholders, running steering committees, owning escalations, and driving project outcomes independently.
• Experience in both packaged solutions (ERP/CRM implementations) and custom development (internally developed / self-developed systems).
• Proven experience managing internal development teams (in-house developers and technical teams) in addition to external vendors.
• Solid experience in project governance, including supporting and presenting at Steering Committee meetings on Risks, Issues, Budget, Timeline, Escalations, and Decisions required.
• Proven ability to operate independently and take ownership quickly with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates a proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to recover projects without heavy handholding.
• Must be fluent in English, Putonghua (Mandarin), and Cantonese (spoken and written) to communicate effectively with stakeholders across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and regional teams.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills.
• Previous experience in contract/vendor negotiations and management.
