Job summary

Michael Page International (Hong Kong) Limited is partnering with a leading insurance company in Hong Kong to hire an experienced Scrum Master.

You will guide agile teams, facilitate ceremonies, remove impediments, and collaborate with product owners and IT stakeholders to deliver high‑quality solutions. Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English is preferred, with PSM/CSM certifications viewed favorably.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, values, principles and frameworks.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience as a Scrum Master leading Agile teams.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies: backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, Scrum of Scrums/Nexus.
• Proficient with Jira, Confluence and Xray for Agile project management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to balance priorities.
• Passionate about coaching teams on Agile principles and continuous improvement.
• Experience collaborating across teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.

• Experience in financial services or insurance industry desirable.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business units, stakeholders and technology teams to drive delivery of application solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to define user stories, acceptance criteria and solution specs.
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions and build alignment across partners, delivery teams and IT.
• Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies; ensure Agile best practices and sprint goals are met.
• Coordinate with QA to develop test strategies and ensure quality expectations are met.
• Own team impediments, risks and issues; drive timely resolutions for sprint success.
• Monitor roadmaps, sprint progress, release plans and delivery milestones.
• Coordinate dependencies across multiple Agile squads via Scrum of Scrums.

Job Description

As a Scrum Master, your main responsibilities will include:

• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, values, principles, and frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience serving as a Scrum Master, leading Agile teams, and proactively removing impediments to ensure team success.
• Proven experience facilitating Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and Scrum of Scrums (or Nexus events).
• Proficient in Agile project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Xray.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and evolving environment with a strong "can-do" attitude.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance business priorities, delivery timelines, development effort, and risk considerations.
• Passionate about Agile coaching, with the ability to educate, mentor, and guide teams on Agile principles, practices, and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated track record of collaborating across teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
• Agile certifications such as PSM, CSM, or equivalent are highly preferred, with advanced-level certifications considered an advantage.
• Experience within the financial services or insurance industry is highly desirable.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Scrum Master should have:

• Partner closely with business units, stakeholders, and technology teams to drive the delivery of application solutions that meet business objectives.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to define and refine user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, and solution specifications.
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions and build alignment among business partners, delivery teams, and IT stakeholders.
• Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, ensuring Agile best practices are followed and teams remain focused on achieving sprint goals and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with QA teams to establish test strategies, develop test plans, coordinate testing activities, and ensure delivered solutions meet business and quality expectations.
• Take ownership of team impediments, risks, and issues, driving timely resolution and supporting successful sprint execution.
• Monitor and manage project roadmaps, sprint progress, release plans, and delivery milestones.
• Coordinate and manage dependencies across multiple Agile squads through effective Scrum of Scrums facilitation.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams to maximize value delivery for customers and stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to organizational governance standards, compliance requirements, and project delivery frameworks.
