BOCI-Prudential Asset Management Ltd. is seeking a Research Analyst for the Japan Equity team to conduct macroeconomic research and perform detailed bottom-up financial analyses of target companies.

The role involves generating actionable ideas for Portfolio Managers, monitoring existing holdings, and coordinating with internal teams on risk and execution feasibility. You will contribute to research reports, support data management, and maintain research databases.

Qualifications

• University degree in finance/accounting/economics.
• Minimum 2 years in asset management or financial institutions; senior level possible.
• Strong analytical and computer skills; fluent in English and Cantonese.

Research Analyst (Investment - Japan Equity)

Our Investment Department is currently looking for a high-caliber candidate to join the Japan Equity Investment Team.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive macroeconomic research and monitor global/regional market trends, regulatory updates, and geopolitical developments to identify potential impacts on investment portfolios.

Perform rigorous bottom-up fundamental analysis on target companies and sectors, including detailed financial statement analysis, business model evaluation, and competitive landscape assessment.

Investment Ideas

Generate and present actionable investment ideas to Portfolio Managers.

Monitor existing portfolio holdings and provide timely updates on market/industry changes.

Collaborate with internal teams to assess investment risks and execution feasibility.

Reporting & Support

Contribute to regular reports and ad-hoc research notes.

Provide administrative support to the team, including data management and meeting coordination.

Maintain internal research databases and archive investment memos systematically.

Requirements

University graduate preferably with finance/accounting/economic background.

At least 2 years of relevant experience in asset management firms or other financial institutions. Candidates with more experience will be considered for a senior-level position.

Knowledgeable in Economics, Finance and/or Statistics is a plus.

Good in analytical and computer skills.

Strong team-player and effective communications.

Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Cantonese.
