Job summary

Argyll Scott is partnering with a global life insurer to build out a regional AI Centre of Excellence in Hong Kong. The Data Scientist will join a squad to develop and evaluate ML and generative AI solutions, from data exploration to prototyping and pilot evaluation, delivering measurable value.

The role requires 2-5+ years of relevant experience, with preferred insurance data experience, AWS SageMaker, and Chinese language capability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of statistical modelling and machine learning.
• Practical experience developing or evaluating ML and generative AI solutions.
• Ability to explain analytical findings and limitations clearly.
• A collaborative approach to experimentation and business problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Explore business-relevant data and establish analytical baselines.
• Develop statistical models and machine learning solutions.
• Build and evaluate ML and generative AI prototypes.
• Assess business value, performance, data constraints and solution limitations.
• Iterate with business users and communicate findings clearly.
• Collaborate with engineers on reproducibility, deployment and monitoring, while developing reusable analytical assets.
