Job summary

UOW College Hong Kong is seeking a part-time Student Counsellor to provide individual and group counselling for students, and to support those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to enhance learning and development.

You will work with academic and administrative units to identify and support students facing academic, personal, emotional, or behavioural challenges, and help plan wellbeing programmes. Strong organisational skills and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or related discipline.
• At least three years post-qualification counselling experience in personal, career or student counselling.
• Solid knowledge of student development, mental health and wellbeing in young adults.
• Good digital literacy including AI-enabled tools and standard computer applications.
• Experience supporting students with SEN, learning difficulties or mental health concerns is advantageous.
• Strong organizational and case management skills; able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling to students.
• Support SEN students by assessing needs and coordinating support.
• Collaborate with academic and admin units to support students facing difficulties.
• Assist in developing student development and wellbeing programmes.
• Handle student crisis cases and coordinate interventions with staff, families and external providers.
• Contribute to planning, implementing and evaluating student support initiatives.
• Maintain records and prepare reports on counselling and student support.
