Job summary

Huatai International Financial Holdings Company Limited in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Derivatives Operations Specialist to oversee post-trade processing across securities, fixed income, listed and OTC derivatives, with daily reconciliation of trades and positions.

You will collaborate with traders and brokers to ensure accurate trade execution, monitor controls, prepare records and reports for internal and regulatory use, and drive improvements with IT for system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years settlement experience in securities/banking.
• Hands-on CCASS, Clearstream and Euroclear experience.
• Knowledge of securities, fixed income, derivatives settlement.
• Proficiency with MS Excel; English and Chinese fluency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee post-trade processing for securities, fixed income products, listed and OTC derivatives across local and overseas markets, including daily reconciliation of trades and positions.
• Resolve discrepancies and issues related to trade settlements and position management.
• Collaborate with traders, counterparties and brokers to ensure timely and accurate trade execution and confirmation.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and regulatory requirements related to derivatives operations.
• Support risk management initiatives by identifying and mitigating operational risks and implementing best practices.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to derivatives trading and operations.
• Generate and review reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities as required.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in derivatives operations.
• Ongoing maintenance of the Standard Operating Procedures.
• Work with IT and other departments to implement system enhancements and automation solutions.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding derivatives operations.
• Address and resolve any operational issues or inquiries promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related disciplines
• Minimum 5 years of settlement experience in securities brokerage industry or banking
• Hands on experience in CCASS, Clearstream and Euroclear
• Knowledge of securities, fixed Incomes Listed and OTC derivatives and Structure Products settlement
• Perform other ad-hoc projects and assignments as required
• Proficiency with MS Suite, specifically Excel.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)
