The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce invites a highly organized Communications Officer to support its communications and events portfolio. You will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, members, and stakeholders to deliver impactful programmes and meaningful engagement opportunities that advance the Chamber's mission and visibility.
Key responsibilities include event coordination, digital communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement.
We are seeking an organised, detail-oriented, and proactive Communications Officer to provide essential support across the Chamber's communications and event portfolio. Working closely with internal teams, external partners, members, and key stakeholders, you will play an integral role in delivering impactful communications programmes, high-profile events, and meaningful engagement opportunities that advance the Chamber's mission and visibility.
Assist in the preparation of event synopses, briefing notes, speaking points, and other event-related materials.
Coordinate sponsorship deliverables, including logo placements, onboarding requirements, and fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.
Liaise with speakers to coordinate logistics, prepare briefing materials, and provide on-site support.
Serve as the main point of contact for suppliers, contractors, members, and external stakeholders involved in programmes and events organised by the Communications Division.
Deliver professional, hands-on operational support during events to ensure a seamless experience for attendees, speakers, sponsors, and VIP guests.
Respond promptly and professionally to event-related enquiries.
Provide administrative and logistical support for a wide range of Chamber events, including conferences, seminars, luncheons, roundtables, receptions, and other Chamber-wide initiatives.
Support the development and execution of communications campaigns, including content creation for social media and website, asset management, submission tracking, and promotion of member success stories.
Assist in creating digital content and basic visual materials using Canva and other approved design tools.
Work closely with the IT team to update, maintain, and troubleshoot website content, ensuring information is accurate, timely, and user-friendly.
Monitor website content and support ongoing enhancements to improve user engagement and website performance.
Assist in drafting media-related materials and coordinating media enquiries.
Monitor local, regional, and international news relevant to the Chamber and key business sectors.
Support the preparation, compilation, and distribution of daily media monitoring reports and news clippings.
Process requests for supporting organisation endorsements and partnership opportunities in a timely and professional manner.
Provide administrative and communications support for speeches, congratulatory messages, and official correspondence.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with member companies, business associations, government bodies, and other external stakeholders.
Support stakeholder engagement initiatives and partnership programmes that enhance the Chamber's visibility and influence.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in communications, event management, PR, or project coordination (experience in an agency, chamber of commerce, or corporate communications environment is an advantage).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Canva and basic graphic design principles.
Communication: Proficient in spoken and written English, Cantonese, and Putonghua; strong translation and proofreading skills in English and Chinese are an advantage.
Soft Skills: Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, customer-centric mindset, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Attributes: Willingness to work outside normal office hours for events when required; immediate availability or short notice period is preferred.
