Job summary

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a Modular Construction Coordinator for Kwu Tung North Construction Site. The role requires a university degree in building construction and at least 10 years of site experience, including 5 years as Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager in MiC, DfMA or offsite fabrication. The successful candidate will coordinate with designers and engineers to ensure timely, quality on-site assembly and implementation of modules.

Qualifications

• Experience with integration of prefabricated building services modules.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of on-site installations of MiC, DfMA or off-site prefabrication components to approved design and standards.
• Obtain approvals/clearances from authorities for off-site modules construction prior to manufacturing.
• Prepare detailed schedules for submission of drawings, method statements, and installation programmes.
• Liaise and coordinate with designers, residents engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve site coordination issues.

Job description

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Company” or “China State Hong Kong”) started its construction business in Hong Kong in 1979. The Company engages in building construction and civil engineering works. China State Hong Kong is among the largest construction contractors in Hong Kong, and is approved by the Works Bureau, to be on the List of Approved Contractors (Group C) for Public Works in the five major categories of building and civil engineering works, namely, “Buildings”, “Port Works”, “Roads and Drainage”, “Site Formation” and “Waterworks”.

Job Duties

• Ensure the quality of the on-site installations of MiC, DfMA or off-site prefabrication components to the approved design, required specifications, standards and quality.
• Ensure approvals and clearances from the relevant Authorities have been obtained for the proposed off-site volumetric modules construction, manufacturing and / or assembly process prior to commencement of the manufacturing process.
• Prepare a detailed schedule showing the proposed dates of submission to the Project Manager of all necessary drawings, method statements, on-site installation and assembly programme, etc.
• Liaise, communicate and co-ordinate with different parties to carry out the interfacing works in accordance with the programme.
• Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the installation programme, the milestone dates of MiC and DfMA installation sequence.
• Coordinate , provide solutions and attend meetings with relevant parties including designer, Design Checker, resident architect, resident structural engineer, resident building services engineer and building services co-ordinator for resolving problems arising from the site co-ordinations of MiC and DfMA installation works.
• Co-ordinate and attend regular and ad hoc meetings.
• Co-ordinate any other duties in connection with site construction work activities.

Qualifications

The Modular Construction Coordinators shall at minimum possess a University degree or equivalent qualification relevant to building construction together with at least 10 years site experience and 5 years relevant experience in the capacity of Project Manager and/or Assistant Project Manager in works with Modular Integrated Construction (MiC), design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) or offsite prefabrication, and with integration of the associated building services prefabricated modules.
