As Merchandiser, you will act as the central link between regional teams, vendors, factories, customers, and internal stakeholders. You will manage sample development, costing, bulk approvals, documentation, and order follow-up to ensure products are delivered on time, at target cost, and to the required quality standards.
Collect sample orders from regional teams and coordinate garment sample production, washing, and export to customers.
Consolidate internal production and washing processes to maintain quality and meet target lead times for all development samples.
Review samples to ensure they are production-friendly for bulk garment makers.
Work out initial style costs during development and drive them closer to bulk cost.
Follow bulk standards and meet approval deadlines provided by regional teams.
Provide development packages for bulk costing and ensure PDM system is kept up to date.
Check fabric and trim inventory, replenishing as needed to meet actual and potential demand.
Follow up orders with regional teams, vendors, customers, and internal parties to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.
Review cost packages and purchase orders for accuracy before submission to supervisors/managers.
Communicate customer requirements clearly and accurately to regional teams and factories.
Ensure documents from regional teams/factories - e.g., vendor review reports, cost breakups, mini markers - are complete and submitted on time.
Support PO release, PR approval, and other system-related work.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum 7 years of merchandising experience in the apparel or textile industry.
Experience supporting lower-volume, high-style-complexity orders is preferred.
Strong merchandising and production follow-up experience.
Solid product knowledge and understanding of garment development and manufacturing processes.
Basic knowledge of social compliance requirements and industry standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong analytical mindset with keen attention to detail.
Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Proactive, solution-oriented approach with a strong "can-do" attitude.
Ability to identify potential risks and communicate issues in a timely manner.
Fluent in English and local language(s), both written and spoken.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant industry experience. Education in Textiles, Apparel, Manufacturing, or a related field is highly preferred.
