Job summary

Kontoor Brands, Inc. is seeking a senior Merchandiser in Hong Kong to support the merchandising team through the product development lifecycle.

You will coordinate sample development, cost management, order execution, and ensure customer satisfaction by collaborating with regional teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The role requires strong merchandising and production follow-up know-how, solid garment development understanding, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of merchandising experience in the apparel or textile industry.
• Strong merchandising and production follow-up experience.
• Solid product knowledge and understanding of garment development and manufacturing processes.
• Basic knowledge of social compliance requirements and industry standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sample orders from the US or Kontoor Asia and export to customers.
• Coordinate production and washing processes to meet lead times.
• Review samples for production readiness in bulk garments.
• Draft initial development costs and align with bulk costs.
• Monitor bulk standards and meet Kontoor Asia deadlines.
• Provide development packages for Asia team and keep PDM up to date.
• Monitor fabric and trims inventory and replenish as needed.
• Follow up orders with regional teams and ensure on-time delivery.
• Review cost packages and POs for accuracy before submission.
• Communicate customer requirements clearly to regional teams and factories.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

We are seeking a Merchandiser to support the merchandising team in delivering high-quality products and services throughout the product development process. This role will work closely with regional teams, vendors, factories, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely sample development, cost management, order execution, and customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• To collect sample order from the US or Kontoor Asia, then arrangement to produce the garment sample and export to the customers.
• Consolidate and corporate internal production and washing process to maintain good quality, and keep up with targeted lead time for all development samples.
• Review the samples to ensure they are production-friendly in the final bulk garment maker.
• Work out the initial cost in each style's development stage and get closer to bulk cost.
• Follow up the bulk standard and meet the approval deadline provided by the Kontoor Asia team.
• Provide development package to Asia team for bulk costing, and ensure PDM up to date.
• Check fabric and trims inventory timely and replenish if necessary, to actual and potential need.
• Follow up orders with Regional team, vendors, customers, and internal parties to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.
• Review Cost packages & Purchase Orders thoroughly to ensure accuracy of all data prior to submit to Supervisor/Manager for further review.
• Handle & Communicate customers’ requirements clearly and accurately to Regional team ,factories and ensure all parties understanding.
• Ensure documents from Regional team/ factories, e.g. vendor review reports, cost break ups, mini markers etc come on time & are complete.
• PO release, PR approval and other system related work monitoring
• Other duties assigned by supervisor

What We Will Be Looking For In You

Experience & Technical Skills

• Minimum 7 years of merchandising experience in the apparel or textile industry.

Language Requirements

• Fluent in English and local language(s), both written and spoken.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Education in Textiles, Apparel, Manufacturing, or a related field is highly preferred.
