Qualifications

• 10+ years of merchandising experience in apparel, with focus on sportswear.
• Strong product knowledge of functional sportswear, ski wear, and technical outerwear.
• Proven ability in product costing, supplier negotiations, sourcing, and end-to-end order execution.
• Understanding of garment manufacturing processes, critical path, and quality standards.
• Experience with suppliers/manufacturing partners in Bangladesh and China.
• Prior programs for value/discount/hypermarket retailers is a must.
• Leadership experience in developing merchandising teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English; Cantonese/Mandarin advantageous.

Senior Merchandising Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Merchandising Manager to join our team in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for team mentoring, product costing, supplier negotiation, and end-to-end order execution. This role will work closely with our Bangladesh and China offices to achieve organizational objectives while ensuring operational excellence, product quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Sportswear category, including functional sportswear, ski wear, and technical apparel programs.
• Mentor and develop merchandising team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business goals.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on critical path activities.
• Manage product costing and supplier negotiations.
• Oversee order execution from development through shipment.
• Work closely with Bangladesh and China offices.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Identify process improvement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Support additional projects and business initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' merchandising experience within the apparel industry, with significant exposure to sportswear categories.
• Strong product knowledge of functional sportswear, ski wear, technical outerwear, and performance fabrics.
• Proven experience in product costing, supplier negotiations, sourcing, and end-to-end order execution.
• Strong understanding of garment manufacturing processes, critical path management, and quality standards.
• Extensive experience working with suppliers and manufacturing partners in Bangladesh and China.
• Previous experience managing programs for value retailers, discount retailers, or hypermarket customers is a must.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience indeveloping merchandising teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Fluent in English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin would be an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with major international retailers and private label programs.
• Knowledge of sustainable materials, responsible sourcing, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in offshore sourcing and multi-country production management.
