Job summary

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking an experienced MEP Design Engineer to participate in the MEP design process from concept to handover. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate MEP solutions, review and approve designs, and ensure compliance with regulations and sustainability standards.

The role requires strong BIM knowledge, familiarity with UK regulations, and the ability to manage design risks and changes.

Qualifications

• Degree in EE/ME/BSE or equivalent.
• Proven experience in MEP design across varied projects.
• Experience with design stage guides (RIBA Plan of Work, BSRIA BG6).
• Strong knowledge of UK regulations, building regulations and guidance.
• Solid understanding of construction methods.
• Proficient BIM processes and ISO19650.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication, planning and teamwork.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the MEP design process from concept through to construction and handover.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate MEP solutions into the overall design.
• Review, challenge, and approve consultant and contractor MEP designs and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, standards, and sustainability requirements.
• Support the management of design risks, change control, and technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all MEP-related queries.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize performance and cost.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to developing best practices within the team.
