Job summary

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking an experienced MEP Design Lead to drive multidisciplinary design across large-scale projects in Hong Kong.

You will lead concept to handover, coordinate with teams, review and approve designs, ensure compliance with UK regulations and BIM ISO19650, manage risks, mentor junior engineers, and support value engineering to optimise performance and cost.

Qualifications

• Degree in EE/ME/BSE or equivalent.
• Proven experience managing MEP design on varied projects.
• Strong knowledge of design stage guides (RIBA plan of work, BSRIA BG6).
• Solid understanding of UK regulations and guidance.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the MEP design process from concept through to construction and handover.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate MEP solutions into the overall design.
• Review, challenge, and approve consultant and contractor MEP designs and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, standards, and sustainability requirements.
• Manage design risks, change control, and technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all MEP-related queries.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize performance and cost.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to developing best practices within the team.

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Company” or “China State Hong Kong”) started its construction business in Hong Kong in 1979. The Company engages in building construction and civil engineering works. China State Hong Kong is among the largest construction contractors in Hong Kong, and is approved by the Works Bureau, to be on the List of Approved Contractors (Group C) for Public Works in the five major categories of building and civil engineering works, namely, “Buildings”, “Port Works”, “Roads and Drainage”, “Site Formation” and “Waterworks”.

Responsibilities：

• Lead the MEP design process from concept through to construction and handover.

Requirements：

• Proven experience with design stage guides (RIBA plan of work, BSRIA Guide BG6)
• Strong knowledge of UK regulations, building regulations and guidance
• Solid understanding of construction methods
• Strong knowledge of BIM process’s and ISO19650
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication, planning and team collaboration abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
