Our client China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a Design Manager / Design Engineer (BS) to join their team! This role covers MEP design management and coordination across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to handover. Positions are available at two levels, with candidates considered for the appropriate level based on experience and seniority.

What you'll be doing?
- MEP design leadership: Lead or participate in the MEP design process from concept through to construction and handover, depending on seniority.
- Multidisciplinary coordination: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate MEP solutions into the overall project design.
- Design review and approval: Review, challenge, and approve consultant and contractor MEP designs and drawings.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure compliance with building regulations, standards, and sustainability requirements throughout the project.
- Design risk management: Manage or support the management of design risks, change control, and technical issues across the project lifecycle.
- MEP point of contact: Act as the primary point of contact for all MEP-related queries.
- Value engineering: Support value engineering initiatives to optimise performance and cost.
- Team development: Mentor or provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to developing best practices within the team.
Who are they looking for?
- Academic qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- MEP design experience: Proven experience in MEP design across a variety of projects, sectors, and values; Design Manager candidates are expected to have demonstrated experience in a managing capacity.
- Design stage guides: Proven experience working with design stage guides including RIBA Plan of Work and BSRIA Guide BG6.
- Regulatory knowledge: Strong knowledge of UK regulations and building regulations and guidance.
- Construction knowledge: Solid understanding of construction methods is required.
- BIM proficiency: Strong knowledge of BIM processes and ISO 19650 is required.
- Team collaboration: Ability to work effectively within or lead multidisciplinary teams, depending on level.
- Organisational skills: Excellent attention to detail, planning, and organisational skills are required.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities are required.
- Work under pressure: Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
