Job summary

Defond Electrical Industries Limited in Hong Kong seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to design and manufacturing for automotive, home appliance and power tool lines. You will support mechanical design, BOM preparation, material selection, 3D/2D drawings, and production changes with cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong problem solving, good communication in English and Mandarin, and a proactive, learning mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related disciplines.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pro/E, etc.
• Experience with molding or designing plastic and metal parts is a plus.
• Good problem solving and communication skills with team spirit.
• English and Mandarin communication ability.

Responsibilities

• Work on design and manufacturing process for Automotive/Home Appliance/Power Tool.
• Assist in mechanical design, including components, BOM, drawings, specs, and changes.
• Support project and production teams and document progress.
• Evaluate products and parts and help resolve engineering issues.
• Preparedocuments and regular reports for assigned projects.

Job description

• Work on design and manufacturing process of Automotive / Home Appliance / Power Tool
• Assist in mechanical design of product to fulfil requirements, including but not limited to components and material selections, 3D/2D drawing, define of specifications, BOM preparation, NPD and production process, and maintenance of design changes, etc
• Support evaluation of products and parts and assist in resolving engineering issues
• Prepare documents and regular reports for assigned projects
• Support project related activities with project and production teams
• Assist in ad hoc projects as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related disciplines
• Knowledge of 3Dmodeling software, such as AutoCAD, solid works, Pro E, etc.
• Experience with molding or designing plastic and metal parts will be an advantage
• Self-motivated and eager to learn
• Good problem solving and communication skills with good team spirits
• Good communication of both written and spoken English and Mandarin
• Experience candidate will be considered as Senior Mechanical Engineer
