Defond Electrical Industries Limited is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to lead design and development of electromechanical products in Hong Kong. You will manage projects from concept to mass production, balancing performance, cost, and reliability.
You will apply CATIA CAD, FEA simulations, GD&T, and DFMEA techniques to deliver robust designs while collaborating with manufacturing, sourcing, and QA teams to meet schedule and quality targets.
Responsible for mechanical design and development to fulfil product requirements, covering the full lifecycle from RFQ, concept design to mass production
Handle detailed design work including component and material selection, 3D modelling, 2D drawings with GD&T, and BOM preparation
Perform engineering analysis, tolerance stack-up analysis, and simulation to ensure robust and optimized designs
Define product technical specifications and requirements, ensuring compliance with quality, reliability, and regulatory standards
Support NPD processes, tooling development, and production process setup, including ongoing maintenance of design changes
Evaluate products and components, identify technical risks, and resolve engineering issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions
Prepare engineering documentation, progress updates, and regular reports for internal and external stakeholders
Communicate effectively with overseas teams, customers, and suppliers on project status and technical matters
Collaborate closely with project management, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery
Support project-related activities and cross-functional initiatives, including prototyping, testing, and validation
Assist in ad hoc engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
5-8 years of relevant experience in in mechanical engineering
Experience in electromechanical products, preferably within consumer electronics or automotive systems
Experience with CATIA CAD, FEA simulation and engineering tools such as DFMEA, tolerance stack up analysis, GD&T geometry and tolerances, mold flow analysis, etc. will be an advantage
Familiarity with injection molding, stamping, die casting, or precision components
Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., automotive or consumer product compliance) is an advantage
Strong problem-solving skills, with hands‑on and analytical mindset
Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross‑functional, multicultural environment
