Asia Insurance is seeking a Marine Claims Clerk / Assistant Supervisor in Hong Kong to support handling and administration of marine insurance claims. You will work with policyholders, brokers, surveyors, and internal teams to ensure timely processing and accurate records.

The role requires a degree or diploma in related fields and 2+ years of marine insurance experience. Strong English and Chinese, plus MS Office, are essential. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• University degree or diploma in insurance, maritime studies, business administration, or related discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in marine insurance or claims; fresh graduates considered.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in handling marine claims from notification through settlement per policy terms and procedures.
• Review claim documents, maintain accurate records, and follow up on missing information.
• Liaise with policyholders, brokers, surveyors, adjusters, solicitors and others on claim progress.
• Prepare claim correspondence, reports, payment documents, and administrative records.
• Monitor claim developments and escalate complex issues to supervisors as needed.
• Support service standards, regulatory compliance, and efficient claims administration.
• Perform other duties and ad hoc assignments as required.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Marine Team and support the handling and administration of marine insurance claims. The successful candidate will work closely with internal colleagues, policyholders, brokers, surveyors, and other external parties to facilitate timely and professional claims processing. The level of appointment will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in handling marine claims from notification through settlement, in accordance with policy terms and internal procedures.
• Review claim documents, maintain accurate claim records, and follow up on outstanding information.
• Liaise with policyholders, brokers, surveyors, adjusters, solicitors, and other relevant parties regarding claim progress.
• Prepare claim correspondence, reports, payment documentation, and other administrative records.
• Monitor claim developments and escalates complex or material issues to supervisors when appropriate.
• Support the team in maintaining service standards, regulatory compliance, and effective claims administration.
• Perform other duties and ad hoc assignments as required.

Candidate Requirements

• University degree or diploma in insurance, maritime studies, business administration, or a related discipline.
• Preferably at least two years of relevant experience in marine insurance, claims, shipping, logistics, or a related field; fresh university graduates will also be considered.
• Good analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Candidates with more relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Supervisor.
