Job summary

Shangri-La Group in Hong Kong is looking for a Manager, Financial Information System to support various financial systems. This role involves project management, troubleshooting system issues, and collaborating with end-users to improve system efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Information Systems, at least 10 years of experience in system management, and strong knowledge of SQL, API, and BI tools. Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• University graduate in Information Systems or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in system management, including support, implementation or enhancement of financial systems.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, VBA scripts, API and BI tools.
• Knowledge of core hospitality and financial systems (e.g. Opera PMS, Infrasys, Micros POS, SunSystems or HFM) is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and financial reporting systems.
• Effective ability to prioritize and execute in a timely manner.
• Motivated and self-starter who takes ownership.
• Good communication, organization and analytical skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin).

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage projects, including reporting progress to stakeholders and tracking costs against budget.
• Facilitate communication between management and end-users to ensure effective solutions.
• Manage implementation or enhancement of financial system(s) at Group level and expand to offices in overseas countries.
• Identify and resolve issues on current financial system workflows, including modification of system specifics.
• Supervise data mapping, integration and reconciliation between financial system(s).
• Manage system administrator tasks, assign access rights, and maintain system security.
• Assess system controls and develop procedures to improve financial system(s) and work with external IT auditors.
• Work closely with external vendors for system patch releases, issues and new system implementations.
• Collaborate with IT for monitoring system hardware, applications and patching status.
• Provide technical support and training to users on various financial systems.
• Prepare project documentation including business requirements, business flow diagram and user manuals.

Position Overview

The Manager, Financial Information System will provide support on various financial systems, including troubleshooting system issues, maintaining system security, assigning roles and permissions, migrating and backing up financial data, designing and creating reports, leading projects on global hospitality systems, and providing testing and training. The role requires collaboration with system end-users and understanding their needs and impact on systems.
