Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Systems Engineer for a Global Conglomerate. The role emphasizes on‑prem infrastructure with strong automation using Ansible and Python to deploy and manage enterprise systems.

You will ensure Linux security, stability, and performance, align with regulatory requirements, and collaborate with platform and operations teams across staggered schedules in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

Our Client is seeking a Systems Engineer experienced in on-prem infrastructure and data center environments, combined with strong automation capabilities. This role focuses on developing and maintaining automation scripts to streamline infrastructure deployment and management, while ensuring the security, stability, and optimization of Linux systems.

Key Duties

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible and Python to streamline infrastructure deployment and management.
• Ensure the security, stability, and optimization of Linux systems across the enterprise.
• Implement security hardening, performance tuning, and stability management for Linux environments.
• Collaborate with platform and operations teams to support infrastructure automation initiatives.
• Work independently on infrastructure automation projects while coordinating with broader teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and operational continuity.
• Maintain documentation for automation scripts, infrastructure configurations, and operational procedures.

Key Requirements

• Experience: ~5 years of experience in on-premises infrastructure and data centre environments - hands-on with physical infrastructure, servers, and data centre operations.
• Automation & Scripting: Proven expertise in developing and maintaining automation scripts using Ansible and Python.
• Linux Systems: Strong knowledge of Linux systems - including security hardening, stability management, and performance optimization.
• Enterprise/FSI Experience: Must have worked for banking or financial services clients - scale is very important.
• Enterprise Scale: Experience managing infrastructure at enterprise scale - understanding the operational demands of large, regulated environments.
