Pinpoint Asia is seeking a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer to own production stability and modernization across a hybrid footprint. You will lead enterprise Linux systems and container platforms on VMware Tanzu, ESXi, and AWS, driving automation and efficiency.
The role requires 8–10 years of hands-on Linux admin experience, strong scripting skills, and a solid understanding of high-availability architectures. English and Chinese communication is essential for collaboration.
Our client, a leading securities firm, is looking for an infrastructure engineer to look after the mission-critical transactional platforms with heavy daily transaction volumes where continuous availability is mandatory. Engineering teams here operate in structured environments with dedicated resources for modernizing legacy platforms into containerized and automated architectures.
We are looking for a Senior Linux & Infrastructure Engineer to own both day-to-day production stability and progressive modernization projects across a hybrid footprint. You will serve as the technical lead for enterprise Linux systems and the container platform layer running on VMware Tanzu.
Take full operational ownership of enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across physical server hardware (HPE) and virtualized farms (VMware ESXi, AWS).
Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize production container platforms running on VMware Tanzu and Kubernetes.
Design and execute configuration management, server provisioning, and patching routines using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripts.
Handle L1 to L3 incident escalations, deep‑dive root cause analyses, system tuning, and capacity planning.
Plan and participate in scheduled off-hours weekend releases, maintenance windows, and annual Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity (DR/BCP) exercises.
Collaborate with application and platform teams to establish standard build templates, hardening guidelines, and operational runbooks.
8 to 10 years of hands‑on Linux administration experience (primarily Red Hat / RHEL) in high‑availability enterprise environments.
Practical production operational experience managing containerized platforms (VMware Tanzu, Kubernetes, or OpenShift).
Proven automation track record using Ansible alongside solid scripting skills in Shell (Bash), Python, or Perl.
Working familiarity with physical server hardware lifecycle management (HPE servers, remote management tools) and VMware ESXi.
Solid grasp of core infrastructure services, high‑availability clustering, storage fundamentals (SAN), and enterprise networking.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
Prior experience with tools like Veritas Cluster/Storage Foundation, ITRS Geneos, BigFix, CyberArk, or AWS environments is an advantage.
True Hybrid Engineering: You will not be stuck in a single-discipline silo. This position balances bare-metal performance, hypervisor management, and modern Kubernetes container orchestration on VMware Tanzu.
Direct Platform Impact: You will have clear autonomy to eliminate repetitive manual work through Ansible automation and modern configuration practices.
Stability & Investment: Join a financially secure, highly respected institution that actively funds platform upgrades and supports staff development.
